Little known fact of the day

When it rains and rains, making the cement incredibly slick, you will fall very differently when holding a baby than you ever would without. All sense of self preservation goes out the window, and you tend to really harm yourself. Thankfully, not one centemetre of my sweet little Mary touched the hard, cold, wet ground. I need to go apply hydrogen peroxide to various now-skinless parts of my poor, aching body.

You mean you hurt yourself and you were carrying a perfectly good cushion at the time? Gosh.

Come on people, you don't sit on cherubs! Even for self preservation,(or at least a cherub we know) ;P

I was a skater in younger years. Our very first lesson was spent teaching us how to fall down(never put your hand out to stop a fall, etc.)Maybe that could be adapted into some sort of class for new mothers. It sounds like you did well.

I do hope you have some colourful bandages to show off your "owie."
